"Kill-or-Cure Cold Remedy"
Our family drinks lots of this, & we think it helps keep us going, through the flu season. (with proper rest included.)
Directions
2 cinnamon sticks
a few peppercorns
2 Tbsp. Fresh Ginger, grated
Add to 2 quarts of water. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add;
1 tsp. dried or 1 sprig fresh (each) ; thyme, sage, marjoram & 1 tsp. Fenugreek Seeds (or 1 tea bag)
Let steep 5 more minutes; strain, then sweeten.
Take 1/2 cup of the mixture & dilute half & half with hot
water.
Drink as hot as you can bear with honey, orange zest, and / or lemon juice to taste.
Take quarts of tea to bed, dress warmly, and get under the blankets.
Drink a few cups of remedy throughout the day, reheating only as much as you'll drink at 1 time.
